I am here to help!

I know time is ticking away - but send me a note at brooks@marshall.edu if you would like me to do a quick search for YOUR group too!!!

search strategy

All - I would also suggest clicking on several databases in EBSCO such as Academic Search, both business databases, the communications database and even the Psychology databases. Do a search on the following:

DE "SPORTS spectators" and attendance

You will get some scientific studies that ESSR faculty have done in re: to the socio-economic and psycho-social reasons why people attend or do not attend spectator sports.

Also see if any of the articles on "ARENA Football League" or "indoor football" meet your needs. There aren't that many but I do think some of the materials in re: to marketing, attendance, and promotional strategies on minor league baseball, soccer, and minor league hockey can help. let me know if you need more info.

Huntington Heroes

Hi Huntington Heroes group –

just like you suspected, there's nothing on our local club in re: to marketing strategies. BUT I was able to find marketing ideas and strategies for other minor league sports in EBSCO. So I will email several full text items to the email you gave me: facetti@marshall.edu right now.

You might need to speak to Dr. Mak re: any other strategies - meanwhile, I do think you can apply some of the info you will gain from these materials to your project.

Also, I think it's always wise to look at your own community demographics and make comparisons to other municipalities when you review this kind of info. HADCO provides a really excellent snapshot of our town: http://www.hadco.org/profile_business_industry.asp

I have used this when I have compiled papers re: other issues facing our local residents.

Welcome to the Info Base!

Greetings, Research Seminar Students,

I created this page so you would have a "start page" unique to your class where we can share info, research strategies, library tools, and provide access to online, book, and journal sources that will enhance your studies in this course.

As the course progresses, please do not hesitate to post questions either to the public blog or within the private chat box provided here. If I am online (you can see my status) I will answer you as soon as I can. Otherwise, send me a note at brooks@marshall.edu. I will do my best to aid you in finding what you need. Since many students may have similar questions, I will post information answers here so we can share them with others. If I discover that I cannot assist you, I have a cadre of very talented professional librarians in my department who can help me serve your information needs!

My contact information is: Dr. Monica Brooks, 304 Drinko Library, 696-6613 or brooks@marshall.edu. I am usually on campus M-F during regular business hours (9-5) and can see you in person if you need one-on-one assistance. Feel free to drop me a line, call for an appointment, or drop by the office!

Your Librarian,
Monica
